PMOD Function Generator

This Digilent PMOD compatible peripheral module allows ready access to an AD9837, a popular direct digital synthesis (DDS) waveform generator chip from Analog Devices. The module includes a built-in 16MHz frequency reference oscillator. A small prototyping area allows for easy assembly of custom output filters and amplifiers. Outputs are sine, triangle, or square waveforms with frequency control, creating a miniature, embedded form of a benchtop function generator. This module is typically used to learn and understand DDS principles, to evaluate the specific waveform generator chip, or to add an analog waveform output to an FPGA board or other primarily digital development environment.
